Tds01Countdown to the Stage 1 of Tour de Singkarak 2013: 10 MORE DAYS TO GO! We can’t wait to welcome this tremendous cycling race!

Tds02Mak Itam is an old steam locomotive (made in 1965), which once played important role in the economy of West Sumatra. It used to pull train transporting coals from Sawahlunto to Port Emmahaven (currently known as Port Teluk Bayur).

Nowadays, Mak Itam becomes the icon of Sawahlunto. It is an integral part of this unique tourist destination which offers nostalgic traces of an old mining town.

Stage 5 of Tour de Singkarak 2013 will begin in Sawahlunto on June 6th.
